Obituary of Eldon Barker

Eldon B."Slick" Barker, 78, Gas City, died at 8:48 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2012. He was born in Marion, Indiana to the late Vaughn and Brosella (Bond) Barker. He married Janet Monroe on April 5, 1958. She survives.

He retired from Dana where he worked as a machine operator. He formerly worked at RCA and in his younger years, was the delivery man for Webb's Furniture. Eldon was a member of the Dana Sympathy Club. He was a United States Navy veteran. Eldon enjoyed crossword, hand poker, fishing, collecting coins, bird watching, and playing games with his children. He loved "Bird" and his cats, Sassy, Gizmo, and Bonnie & Clyde.

Funeral Service: at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Marion, IN.

Visitation: will be Friday, August 17, 2012 from 4-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
