Obituary of Christopher Auler

Christopher E. Auler, 49, Marion, passed away in his home at 11:46 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.  He was born in Marion on August 9, 1969, to Walter and Patricia (Huff) Auler.  On March 3, 2008, he married Stephanie Banks, and she survives.

Christopher was a graduate of Fordsville High School in Kentucky and a U.S. Army veteran.  He loved participating in sports activities, especially basketball and baseball.  Christopher also enjoyed taking walks and riding his bike, as well as playing cards.  All who knew Christopher knew that he loved drinking coffee and Rock ‘N’ Roll.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Stephanie, he is survived by his son, Alex; his daughter, Becca Auler; sister, Nannette Burdette; brothers, Shane (Ellen) Auler, Kurt Greer, and Robert Sheppard; nieces, Sheena Burdette, Makayla Ball, Ashley Wiseman, Emily Wiseman, Jessie Auler, and Jessie Sheppard; and nephews, Miles (Justine) Burdette, Harley Auler, John Tyler Huston, James Sheppard, and Daniel.

Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Ethel (Louis) DeWitt; paternal grandparents, Clarence Auler and Emma Skinner; and brother, David Auler.

The family will receive visitors from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN. 

Immediately following visitation, Christopher’s funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. with Pastor Joe L. Huff officiating.  Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
