Phillip Charles Hartley, 72, Gas City, passed away in his home at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. Born in Hartford City on October 14, 1946, Phillip was the son of the late Charles and Lucile (Loer) Hartley. He married his loving wife, Arizona Persinger, on May 24, 1985, and she survives.
Phillip was a self-employed carpenter throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, riding his golf cart around town, but, more than anything else, spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 34 years, Arizona, Gas City; sons: Phillip B. (Tina) Hartley, Fairmount; Mark (Pamela) Hartley, Hartford City; siblings: Ray (Margaret) Hartley, Marion; Jim (Patricia) Hartley, Wabash; Ronnie (Patricia) Hartley, Huntington; Leon (Carolyn) Hartley, Warsaw; grandchildren: Brian J. (Samantha), Derrick, Jessica (Jeremy) Lloyd, Austin, Paige; and great-grandchildren: Miley, Mason, Emily, Greyson, Kaylee, Keegan, Brookelynn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Hartley.
A memorial service will be held at a later time and date.
