Obituary of Bonnie J. Lahr
Bonnie Lahr, 75, passed away at 8:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born in Marion on July 7, 1943, to Clyde and Angel (Boothby) Lahr.
Bonnie graduated from Marion High School in 1962 and was always a big supporter of the Marion Giants. She was an assistant at the Vision Impaired for the Indiana Institute for the Blind, Methodist Hospital, and Grant County Services for Blind and Visually Impaired.
She attended First Christian Church and dearly loved her church family. She loved children and volunteered in the church nursery, sang in the choir, was a member of “Age Isn’t Mentioned”, and was involved in all church functions.
Bonnie also enjoyed being outside and playing games, listening to the 50s and 60s music, playing Wii bowling, Karaoke, and shopping. She will also be remembered for how much she loved to socialize and babysit for children.
She is survived by her brother, Russell (Carol) Lahr, Fort Wayne; sisters: Charlotte (John) Couch, Warren; Terri (Randy) Browning, St. Petersburg, FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and special friends and caretakers, Cynthia Horton and Brandi (Sam) Hutchison.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Clyde (Angel) Lahr; twin sister, Connie; and brother, John Wine.
Rev. Roslyn Harrison will lead family and friends in a time of prayer at Estates of Serenity at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019.
A Celebration of Life for Bonnie will take place on her birthday, July 7, 2019.
